Township Centennial
Shingobee Township, September 15, 1913 - September 15, 2013
2013 was Shingobee Township's 100 Year Anniversary! An Open House was held on September 18th. A number of folks stopped by to look at displays, reminisce and enjoy refreshments. A huge thank you to Renee Geving of the Cass County Historical Society for writing up some historical summaries and sharing photographs of early township residents, businesses and events. Check out some of the articles Renee wrote and photos taken at the event in the Cass County Historical Society's October 2013 Newsletter. You can access this in our "Links". We are still looking for stories and photos about Shingobee Township "back in the day" to add to what was compiled for the centennial event. If you have some family or business history to share, please contact Clerk/Treasurer Ann Swanson at shingtwp@arvig.net. Just a paragraph or two would be plenty.
Help Wanted
The township is often in need of extra drivers for help with snowplowing and other road maintenance needs. Hours are typically "on call". If you have flexibility in your schedule and are interested in this type of work, please consider applying!
Election Information
Shingobee Township conducts local elections to select township officers who help oversee township governance, services, and decision-making on behalf of residents. Township elections are held in accordance with Minnesota election law, and official results, precinct summaries, and required campaign finance forms are made publicly available for transparency and public reference. Annual Donations
Each year, Shingobee Township allocates a portion of its annual levy to support local nonprofit organizations, community programs, and public services that enhance the quality of life for township residents. Donation recommendations are made by township electors at the Annual Meeting and distributed in accordance with Minnesota statutory authority for township contributions to qualifying organizations.
